I’m going to share something personal that no one prepares you for…
What it feels like as a woman to look in the mirror and see your hair falling out.

I went through a health scare a few years ago. It was rough. But you know what I didn’t expect?
To sit in my hairstylist’s chair, and have her part my hair, pause, and say…“You've lost clumps of hair”
What?! I had no idea!
It turns out that the stress on my body—physically and emotionally—was catching up with me in a very visible, devastating way.
Large patches of hair were gone in my temple area gone.
The crown of my head? Thinning.
And the thought that ran through my mind over and over again was:"Am I going to have to start wearing wigs? Do I just live in hats now?"
Men lose their hair, and society shrugs. It’s “normal.” It’s even a look. But when it happens to women? It hits differently.
Hair is tied to our femininity. Our confidence. Our sense of identity. And when it starts disappearing—so does a part of how we feel in the world.
I remember standing in the bathroom with wet hair, trying to figure out how to style it so no one would notice the thinning.
I tried hiding it with styling products, dry shampoo, and side parts. And I kept asking: “Is there really anything that works for women?”
At the time, all I knew about were hair regrowth products made for men. They were either too strong or didn’t feel right for me.
So I did what many women do when we feel helpless…I put on a brave face. But inside, my confidence took a hit.
I want to tell you something I wish someone had told me...
You are not alone. And you’re not crazy for caring.
This isn’t vanity.
This is about feeling good when you leave the house.
This is about recognizing yourself in the mirror again.
This is about reclaiming something that’s always felt like you.
And the good news? There are solutions. Real ones.
There are experts and innovations finally paying attention to women like us—and creating options that don’t require us to settle, cover up, or feel ashamed.
In fact, I had a powerful conversation recently with Ian Murphy, President of Scientific Hair Research and the brand Keranique, about this very topic.
He opened up about what’s really going on behind the rising numbers of hair loss in women, why most products fall short, and how to look for formulas that actually work.

With love (and a full head of hair again 💁♀️),Michelle 💕
